Distance Education Professional Development Resources

 

 

ADEC: a non-profit distance education consortium composed of approximately 65 state universities and land-grant colleges. The consortium was conceived and developed to promote the creation and provision of high quality, economical distance education programs and services to diverse audiences, by the land grant community of colleges and universities, through the most appropriate information technologies available.

 

EDUCAUSE: is a nonprofit association whose mission is to advance higher education through the use of information technology.

 

NCES: The National Center for Educational Statistics, is a virtual database archive created by The Institute of Educational Sciences, in collaboration with the U.S. Department of Education, and other educational organizations.

 

NEA: The National Education Association, is the nation's largest professional employee organization, is committed to advancing the cause of public education. NEA's 3 million members work at every level of education—from pre-school to university graduate programs. NEA has affiliate organizations in every state and in more than 14,000 communities across the United States.

 

USDLA: The United States Distance Learning Association, is a non-profit professional development community. Its innovative platform comprises conference announcements, scholarly literature, Blended Media Tutorials, as well as certification, and career resources, as well as blog discussion forums.

 

Teachingonthenet.org: Is a leading online source for faculty  development and recruitment in the field of distance education.
